PURPOSE:To provide the optical information recording medium being inexpensive and having a recording layer of an organic pigment compound whose recording capacity is large. CONSTITUTION:This medium is provided with a reflecting part 4, a pigment layer 3 provided so as to come into contact with one face of the reflecting part 4, and a protecting part 2 for cutting off the pigment layer 3 from the open air, and in one of these reflecting part 4 or protecting part 2, a rugged pre-format pattern is formed. By utilizing a fact that a transmission factor and a reflection factor of light are different in the part in which film thickness is large and the part in which it is small of the pigment layer 3, a signal is recorded. As for the pigment layer, it can be constituted so as to conform to a Lambert-Beer's law related to absorption of light against a reproducing laser beam of specific wavelength, and also, can be constituted so as not to conform to the law concerned. |
