PURPOSE:To optimize print dot diameter and print quality, both in a high- resolution print mode and a low-resolution emulation print mode in combination of print picture elements, by changing laser emission intensity. CONSTITUTION:A controller 100 generates bit map image data for one page based on code data from a host computer and outputs the image data to a printer engine 200. The controller 100 outputs command so as to select and set a print mode of the printer engine 200. Here, laser emission intensity is changed by a high resolution of 600dots/inch and a print mode for printing by combining high resolution print picture elements and emulating a low resolution of 300dots/inch. Thus, an optimum print dot diameter can be obtained for both modes. |
