An automatic fishing machine which can automatically detect a fish caught by a hook and automatically draw the fish near the water surface even where a fish gathering place is deep. This machine is adapted to catch a fish by delivering by use of an electric reel (11) a fishing line (12) connected at the forward end thereof with a hook (15) and by reeling it up from under the water, and comprises: a tension detecting section (17) for detecting the tension of a trunk line (13) secured to the vicinity of the forward end portion of the fishing line and connected thereto with the hook (15); and a reel control section (23) for causing the electric reel (11) to reel the fishing line (12) up when an output from this tension detecting section (17) indicates a hooked fish. |
