The blade (1) is secured with its hinge (2) in the frame (3) of he tool with a hydraulic tensioner (4). During sawing, the stone block (5) exerts force (F) on the blade (1) giving rise to oscillation (delta Y) in the direction of thrust. The movement is measured by a device (7) wired (7,7) for display (6) in diagrammatic form. A feeler plate (7,1) is pressed resiliently against the blade (1), transmitting movement to a diaphragm (7,3). ADVANTAGE - Time-varying oscillations of saw blade are measured and displayed or recorded by very robust and watertight device which does not impede blade-changing.
