The speaker's desk has, let into a hole in the desk-top (6), a stand (3) for an overhead projector which can be adjusted in height by a drive positioned at one side only, beneath the desk-top. The stand is joined to the drive by a cross-bar (7) held by guide-bars (16). The drive consists of a ball-thread drive (31) which has a spindle with a drive-motor and nut connected to the cross-bar. The guide bars and the ball thread spindles between the two guide bars are fixed to a frame (10) attached to the inside of the table-side (9). ADVANTAGE -The drive is compact and allows precise positioning.
