Cable feedthrough for measuring transducer - has cast resin plate screwed or clamped into aperture with wire sleeves extending into casing

The feedthrough includes a plate (5) which is seated in an aperture (9) in an oil-tight casing (1). The casing rim rests on a smoothly machined surface (2) with an annular seal (8), tightened by screws (4) through pressure plates or clamps (7) at 90 deg. spacing. Wires (6) are cast into the plate (5) with insulating sleeves (11) extending a few millimetres into the top of it. Pref. the wires (6) are twisted for extra hold within the casting. USE/ADVANTAGE - Pref. on light metal casings. Very simple cast feedthrough plate provides reliable sealing of small and closely-spaced wires with increased surface leakage current resistance.
