The electronic guitar has a string bed with a block (6) set onto a main body. The block has evenly spaced tensioned strings (5) in contact with a top surface (9). An electromagnetic detector (13), that has a comb like profile (14), is built into the block. The spaces (11) between the projections form a field generator region and each projection is in the form of piezoelectric foils with an isolating layer inbetween. The lower end has connections to electrical output lines. ADVANTAGE - Stray electromagnetic field effects are reduced for high definition output.
