In a bearing device for an electric locomotive, a race (raceway, ball-bearing race) which has to enter into contact with an earthing brush has an extension part configured in the form of a tube which hangs over the earthing brush in such a manner that the separate oil content of a lubricating grease for the bearing is prevented from falling directly on the earthing brush and being displaced by the centrifugal force produced by the rotation of the race.
