Dividing wall for front of car - provides hole to allow access in engine compartment to pedal lever joint

The front section of a car has a wall (3) dividing the engine compartment (1) from the passenger area (2). A pedal lever (5) is used to operate a unit such as a carburettor in the engine compartment. An opening (10) is provided in the wall with a releasable cover (11) through which a Bowden cable (7) can pass. On the removal of the cover, the free end of the pedal lever (8) can tilt sufficiently to allow the joint with the Bowden cable to move into the engine compartment. USE/ADVANTAGE - Construction of dividing wall in car permits easy access for inspection to the joint between the pedal lever and the cable.
