Prodn. of factor (VIII) concentrates is effected by (a) extracting thawed cryoprecipitate with water contg. 1-3U/ml of heparin at pH 6.5-7.5 (b) adding an Al(OH)3 suspension, (c) cooling to 10-18 deg.C (d) adjusting the pH to 6-7 (e) centrifuging or filtering and (f) treating the supernatant or filtrate with organic solvent and detergent in known manner to remove viruses.
