A control mechanism for valves, for simultaneously supplying different plastics and colour components into the mixing chamber of a mixing head, includes valves which are angularly displaced about the mixing chamber axis, valve stems and associated springs which hold the valves shut. A control plate is arranged coaxially w.r.t. the mixing chamber axis, and has circumferential regions which are closer and further away from the mixing chamber axis. When rotated, the plate actuates the valves. ADVANTAGE - The mechanism is simple in construction, easy to maintain, and allows precise simultaneous dosing
