The invention relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions, especially dermatological compositions. The invention relates more particularly to the use of an extract of Coleus esquirolii, Coleus scutellarioides or Coleus xanthanthus, or a mixture thereof, for the preparation of a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition, especially dermatoloqical composition. In particular, the invention makes it possible effectively to promote the pigmentation of the skin or hair.
