X=ray image intensifier with filter and CCD imager - provides for selective insertion and retraction of suitably coloured optical filter between tube and photoelectric converter

The x-ray image intensifier has a device (4) positioned between the output fluorescent screen (3) of the intensifier tube (1) and a CCD imager (6), for insertion of a filter (5), e.g. a red filter, esp. for clarification of images of the stomach - digestive tract. For cardiography, such a filters is pref. retracted into the device, and for other special applications corresp. filters of other colours can be introduced selectively in front of the imager. Longer wavelengths give relatively inert CCD output. USE/ADVANTAGE - For gastro-intestinal and cardiac examinations. Readily diagnosed exposures can be available where high temporal resolution is unnecessary.
