A seal (5) for a moving piston (3) in a cylinder (2) is designed to give high axial guidance. One or more seals (5) are located either in the cylinder wall (2) or the outer surface of the piston (3). The seal is mfd. in a PTFE material with a powdered or fibrous filler and has longer axial length for improved piston (2) guidance. USE/ADVANTAGE - The seal is used in hydraulic machinery between a piston and a cylinder, gives good sealing, low friction and wear and improves guidance, even at low piston speed and where reduced contact exists between cylinder and piston.
