The description relates to a process for producing a plastic object decorated with a design of a stamping foil (26) in which a stamping foil (26) is arranged between two mould halves (12, 14) of a mould (10), whereupon both mould halves (12, 14) are moved together to form a hollow chamber (20). Here, the stamping foil (26) is clamped firmly between the two mould halves (12, 14). A plastic material is then injected into the mould chamber (20) through at least one sprue channel (22) formed in the mould (10). The plastic sprue shaped by the sprue channel (22) adhering to the plastic object is separated therefrom before the plastic material cures in the mould. After the still uncured sprue has been separated from the uncured plastic object, the plastic material cures in the closed mould. The mould is then opened and the cured, finished and decorated plastic object is removed from the mould chamber (20) and the separated cured sprue is removed from the sprue channel (22). |
