PURPOSE:To obtain a semipermeable composite membrane having excellent durability and excellent selective separating capability, by providing a semipermeable thin membrane obtained from the reaction of a water-soluble polymer containing amino groups with a multifunctional amine on a porous support. CONSTITUTION:A semipermeable bridged polymer membrane, obtained from the reaction of a water-soluble polymer having amino groups on its molecular chain terminal and/or side chains, e.g., amine-modified epihalohydrin, with a multifunctional amine, e.g., ethylene diamine, is provided as a barrier wall having a two- layered structure consisting of an active layer and a gelled layer on a porous support. The semipermeable composite membrane thus obtained has great resistances to hydrolysis, chemicals, drying, etc., as well as excellent selective separating capability. |
