摘要 A fastener for locking a wheel onto a shaft has a first ring with a centre bore and a radially aligned area to grip the side face of a wheel. An axial extension extends away from the radial section and has a tapered outer face. The central bore extends through both the radial projecting area and the axial extension. A second ring grips the opposing wheel face and a third ring has a tapered inner bore allowing it to seat on the tapered outer face of the axially projecting area. Axial screws draw the second and third rings towards each other and force the third ring against the opposing wheel face and thus the wheel against the first ring. The axial extension is forced inwards to lock the assembly onto the shaft. Both the mating, tapering surfaces have a low friction coating of PTFE or molybdenum disulphide. USE/ADVANTAGE - A wheel (1) on a shaft (2) is attached to the latter (2) by axial pressure on both wheel (1) faces. A ring (3) pressing against one side of the wheel (1) has both a radially aligned area (4) and also an axial extension (5) with several equally spaced axial slots (6) around the circumference and extending from the end of the extension (5). The outer face of the axial extension (5) tapers inward towards the free end.
