<p>PURPOSE:To make the handling easy, and to attain the sufficient shape accuracy, by taking the influence of the distortion and the roll radius deviation into the arithmetic formula for carrying out the shape control. CONSTITUTION:When the shape controlled rolling work is to be carried out by a little skewed backup rolls contacting the work rolls taking the middle of the work roll as the skewing center, the synthesized crown of the rolls' contact part, obtained by synthesizing both rolls' distortions and radius deviations, is expressed as the even function of the distance x in the axial direction from the center of the skew. For the computing program, the coefficient of each term is taken in as a part of inputs of the electronic computer, and the correlation coefficient between the skew angle and the load for giving the bending to the roll is computed so as to make the curvature of the middle of the work roll to be the expected value. Taking this correlation coefficient as the reference value, the control unit is controlled.</p> |
