PURPOSE:To form a reinforcing covering layer having a smooth surface free from burr on connected parts by coating and curing an uncured resin by the relative movement of the parts freed of their coverings and a single dies type coater. CONSTITUTION:Parts 3A, 3B of covered optical fibers are freed of their coverings and connected, and a dies type coater 10 which can be freely moved along the parts 3A, 3B is placed around the fibers. After charging an uncured resin 6 into the coater 10, the parts 3A, 3B freed of their converings and connected and the coater 10 are relatively moved in the axial direction of the parts 3A, 3B to coat the uncured resin 6 on the outsides of the parts 3A, 3B. The uncured resin 6 is cured to form a reinforcing covering layer. |
