Solid mixed metal oxide compositions comprising barium titanate, in which part of the barium oxide has been replaced with oxides of other metals chosen from calcium, lead, antimony, manganese and silicon oxides, corresponding to the following empirical formula: BaxCayPbzTi1.0SbtMnuSivOw in which x, y, z, t, u, v and w are decimal numbers such that 0 & y & 0.1 z > 0 0.99 & x + y + z & 1.025 0.002 & t & 0.006 <LT>0.0004 & u & 0.0012 0 & v & 0.01 x + y + z + 2 + 3t/2 + u + 2v < w < x + y + z + 2 + 5t/2 + 7u/2 + 2v Electrical resistors with a positive temperature coefficient, obtained by sintering such a composition.
