An external rear-view mirror for motor vehicles, capable of being fixed onto a support placed on the side of the bodywork and having a rear-view mirror casing (9), in which a mirror glass (6) is capable of being placed on a holding part (5), is characterised in that, after mounting of the holding part (5) on the vehicle (2), the rear-view mirror casing (9) can be moved on the holding part (5) and can be removably fixed in a final position. <IMAGE>
