PURPOSE:To realize efficient operation of inverter by disposing a DC booster means between a secondary battery and a self-excited inverter. CONSTITUTION:When a battery 1 is discharging, a current flows through a GTO 10B during ON interval of a self-extinguishable semiconductor element (GTO) and flows through a diode 11A during OFF interval thereof. Since the battery 1 is short-circuited through a reactor 2 during ON interval of the GTO 10B when a current flows therein, output current of the battery 1 increases. Upon turn OFF of the GOT JOB under that state, energy corresponding to current increment of the reactor 2 is fed through the diode 11A to a capacitor 3 and the voltage thereof increases. Upon variation of the battery 1 voltage, ON interval of the GTO 10B is varied by means of a constant voltage control circuit 13 and a pulse width modulation circuit 14 thus holding constant the DC input current of inverter. According to the invention, inverter can be operated efficiently. |
