<p>PURPOSE:To improve a tracking state in a reproduction mode prior to an inserting edition and recording and to prevent the degradation of the picture quality of a reproduced picture at the time of the inserting edition. CONSTITUTION:The regenerative signal of a specific recording head RECA is detected by an envelope detector circuit 28, in the reproduction mode prior to the inserting edition and recording, and a detected output signal S3 is supplied to a tracking adjusting part 25. The level of the part of the detected output signal S3 for which a level is not affected by a recording and reproducing characteristic is detected, and a tracking signal S8 changing in a direction for which the level is increased is formed by the tracking adjusting part 25. The delay time of a variable delay circuit 24 is adjusted by the tracking signal S8. A reference pulse from a reference pulse generator 11 is delayed by the variable delay circuit 24, and turned to a reference signal for the phase control of a capstan motor 33b. At the time of the start of the insert edition and recording, the delay time of the variable delay circuit 24 is set so as to be the most satisfactory tracking state.</p> |
