A neck lock for a sow binding has a lock housing 1 with fixed hooks 11 and moveable spring-action pawls 2, which can interact with the hooks 11 to embrace an axle or a ring on a binding. In order for the pawls to slide easily and without hindrance, they are fashioned from pieces 2a and 2d which slide them over the bottom of the housing, a piece 2b perpendicular to the latter, which the spring thrusts against, and a piece 2c which slides along the edges of the housing 1. A cover plate 4 prevents the spring from getting soiled. <IMAGE>
