<p>PURPOSE:To quantitatively determine and evaluate the degree of aging of long- stored rice. CONSTITUTION:When near infrared transmission filters 5A-5C are selected, near infrared rays with a specified wave length alone of the light emitted from a light source 1 is transmitted corresponding to the filters selected to irradiate a rice sample in a transparent container 11 and the reflected light thereof is detected with a photoelectric detector 8. On the other hand, when visible light transmission filters 5D-5F are selected, visible light with a specified wavelength alone of the light emitted from the light source 1 is transmitted corresponding to the filers selected to irradiate the rice sample in the transparent container 11 and the reflected light thereof is detected with the photoelectric detector 8. Then, an arithmetic device 14 calculates the degree of fatty acid and content of chlorophyl in the rice sample from both detected values of the photoelectric detector 8 to determine an indicator for aging of stared rice as indication of the degree of modification of rice from both calculated values.</p> |
