METAL VAPOR LASER DEVICE, LASER OSCILLATION METHOD, AND LASER OSCILLATION TUBE

PURPOSE:To improve an output per unit effective discharge area of a laser oscillation tube. CONSTITUTION:A saturable reactor 14 constituting a magnetic switch is provided at a location more close to a discharge tube 10 than a peaking capacitor 9 provided in the vicinity of the discharge tube 10. The saturable reactor 14 allows its inductance to be greatly increased from a charging capacitor located on the side of a power supply to the peaking capacitor 9, and is 'opened', so that it prevents the electric charges from flowing into an electrode 11 of the discharge tube 10. Accordingly, substantially the total amount of the electric charges stored in the charging capacitor is transferred to the peaking capacitor 9 and at the next moment a rapid pulsed current flows in between the discharge electrodes 11, 12 for assurance of efficient laser oscillation.
