METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DYNAMICALLY CHANGING I/O CONFIGULATION OF SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To dynamically change the I/O configuration of a hardware or a software of a data processing system securing the data integrity. CONSTITUTION: A source I/O definition file(IODF) defining a present system I/O configuration 112 and a target IODF defining a future I/O configuration 113 are prepared. The definition of the hardware and software of the system is changed by actuating an activation function so as to correspond to the target IODF. A comparison function compares the source and target IODFs with each other, and forms a configuration change block(CCB) 117, and efficiently performs the change process. A confirmation function confirms that the proposed change is effective, and the change process updates the configuration definitions 115 and 116 of the hardware and software. If the change process is successful, a notification is sent. If unsuccessful, the change process of the I/O configuration is canceled or restored to the initial state.
