PURPOSE:To shorten time for transmission by transferring the same character string repeatedly appearing in a file and the plural positions after symbolizing them. CONSTITUTION:A transmission processing part 11 successively inputs the character strings of the transmission file by an input part 13, converts those character strings into digital signals and stores them in an input buffer 14. A pattern extraction part 15 successively reads the character strings from the input buffer 14 and extracts the characters repeatedly appearing and the patterns of the character strings, and the characters, the character strings and the positions are symbolized and outputted to a comparator part 16. A transmission buffer 17 stores the patterns extracted from a text file and the position information and when the patterns are inputted from the pattern extraction part 15, the comparator part 16 retrieves the patterns of the transmission buffer 17. When there is the same pattern, the existent position information is updated so as to add the position information of the input pattern to the existent position information. When there is no same pattern, the new pattern and the position information are added. Finally, a transmission part 18 transmits the patterns of the transmission buffer 17 and the position information.
