The continuous press consists of upper- and lower-press sections which incorporate steel belts (5) which run over guide drums. The chains, with rods (8), are guided over rollers (12) which have notches (13) in their circumference in which the rods fit with play. The rods are fed between the belts (5) and guide blocks (2) via curved inlet sections. The curvature of these sections is chosen so that it is small in relation to the diameter of the rods. The rods are carried along by the belts by rolling friction with hardly any slip, in the inlet area. ADVANTAGE - The press rods, which are mounted between the belts and the press blocks, are mounted elastically and are free from restraints during their movement.
