PURPOSE:To maintain the temperature within the incinerator for burning city trash and so on at a constant level by so constructing that the feeding of matter disposed from hopper to fire grate is interrupted for a predetermined time period when the feeding rate of matter disposed per unit time period from pit which stores matter disposed temporarily to hopper exceeds a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:An incinerator for burning city trash and so on generally includes the first feeding means 4 comprising a grabbing backet for feeding intermittently matter disposed from a pit 1 to hopper 5 through which matter disposed is thrown into the incinerator, and a second feeding means 6 of a pusher type for feeding intermittently matter disposed from the hopper 5 to a fire grate 9 inside of the incinerator. In accordance with this invention, the feeding rate of matter disposed per unit time period into the hopper 5 by the first feeding means 4 is detected by a sensor 24 every feeding cycle. If the sensor 24 detects that the feeding rate is higher than a predetermined level which is based on the treating capacity of the incinerator 2, an actuator 12 for the second feeding means 6 and a drying range fire grate 9 stops automatically for a predetermined time period. |
