A compsn. for removing coatings contains butyl diglycol and butyl glycol in ratio by vol. of 99:1-85:15, and opt. a thickener. The compsn. pref. contains 2.5-10 (5) vols. % of butyl glycol, and may contain a usual thickener. ADVANTAGE - The compsn. is free from alkalies, soaps, surfactants, solvents and/or water (claimed). It removes lacquers of many kinds and gives clean surfaces needing no after-treatment. It can be burned with domestic waste, or dil. with water and released into the drains. The components have low volatility and toxicity and are difficulty inflammable.
