Four-stroke engine cylinder-related crankshaft position detector - uses valve actuation cam on face of cylinder head in conjunction with Hall effect transducer
摘要
For correct timing of fuel injection and ignition, a toothed wheel on the crankshaft is monitored by a pulse detector while a cam (8) on the camshaft (6) evokes a similar response from an active Hall effect transducer (13) within the cylinder head cover (11). The portion of the cam (8) which actuates the plunger (9) of the valve (10) is used for this purpose. The transducer (13) can be disposed radially w.r.t. the path of the cam (8) for space-saving reasons. ADVANTAGE - Compact assembly can be fitted into engine compartment and occupies no additional axial space.
