The generator has rotational field coils (1) mounted on a frame (5). Each coil receives a variable phase a.c. such that the field effect may be controlled. Longitudinal coils are located at either end for control purposes. The coil assembly is mounted on a gimbal assembly (6) that allows 360 degree rotation in two axes. The frequency of the field and strength is determined by a programme controlled computer system. ADVANTAGE - Allows effective direction of magnetic field to be set by electrical and/or electronic means.
