In a filter top probe for gravimetric determn. of dust contents in gas streams by suction withdrawal of a gas bleed stream, sepg. the dust on a filter membrane while measuring the bleed gas amt. and then weighing the sepd. dust amt., an exchangeable dust collector (1) comprising an integral combination of a suction pipe, a filter plate and the filter membrane is mounted on the filter housing (7) of the probe. The suction pipe is fixed centrally on the convex side of the filter plate, while the filter membrane stretches over and closes the concave side of the filter plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The probe is used for determining dust emissions, esp. for determining the sepn. capacity of dust removal units or for calibrating dust measuring devices. The design eliminates errors caused by contamination by dust particles in the suction pipe, facilitates dust collector exchange without dust sample loss even during transport and, by use of a flat filter, reduces pre- and post-treatment costs and increases the sample usefulness for analyses.
