Adhesive (I) comprises (A) 80-96 pts. wt. polyurethane prepolymer which is reaction prod. of (i) diphenylmethane, hydrogenated diphenylmethane, toluylene or hexamethylene diisocyanate with mixt. of (ii) difunctional polyol with no. ave. mol. wt. 400-1000, (iii) difunctional polyol with no. ave. mol. wt. over 1000-4000 at NCO/OH mol. ratio 6:1-8:1, (A) having viscosity 600-900 mPa-s/20 deg.C; (B) 1-5 pts. wt. aromatic dinitroso cpd., (C) 3-10 pts. wt. OH-free (i.e. less than 0.01 OH equiv./100 g) epoxide resin (II) of epoxide value 0.45-0.75 (equiv./100 g) which is reaction prod. of epichlorohydrin with a novolac or bisphenol, opt. (D) 1-20 pts. wt. alkylbenzene of formula C6H5-CnH2n-1 (C6H5CnH2n+1 (sic)) (n=8-16) and opt. (E) conventional auxiliaries, curing catalysts and/or curing accelerators. (I) is free from catalyst for reaction of NCO gps. with epoxide gps. to form oxazolidone gps.
