摘要 The steering system assists the conventional manual steering (3,4) of the front wheels with a servomechanism (5). Steering moments are measured by a goniometer (17) linked to a controller (16) receiving additional signals from a speedometer (18), transverse accelerometer (30) and displacement sensors (19,20) on both front and rear steering servos (5,6). The steering servos are held in a neutral position by springs (5c,5d,6c,6d) and have pressurised oil supplied from a hydraulic pump (7) via a branching valve (12) and respective electromagnetically controlled servo valves (14,15) whose movements are timed in appropriate phases. ADVANTAGE - Optimises handling requirements for lane-changing and curve negotiation by counteracting tendency to understeer in front-wheel-drive vehicles.
