The appts. includes two temperature sensors (S1,S2) connected to an electronic controller which corrects the temp. measured by the second sensor using the temp. measured by the first. The device is mounted in or on the dashboard and closed off from the passenger compartment by a grid (G). The first sensor (S1) is mounted on and measures the temp. of the surface (O) of an insulating body (I) whose surface quickly assumes the temp. of the surrounding medium. The second sensor (S2) is mounted on and measures the temp. of the grid. The wires (N1,N2) to the sensors are arranged within the insulating body. ADVANTAGE - Produces signal very accurately representing internal temp. and substantially eliminates errors caused by radiation from dashboard.
