The sensor has a housing (10) contg. a seismic wt. body (15) which triggers a control signal when a defined threshold value is exceeded. A permanent magnet (17) mounted in the body influences the contacts (22,24) of a reed switch (21). There is a defined distance (a) between the magnetic centres (27,28) of the permanent magnet and reed switch contacts. The body can be a three-sided prism with a low centre of gravity (s) and the magnet in the apex. A protrusion (30) inside the housing bypasses the body tilt in a certain direction. ADVANTAGE -Simple, robust and economical to make since it contains few parts.
