A laminate containing at least one melded binder-consolidated nonwoven based on carrier fibres and binding fibres and a fabric bonded thereto, which is bonded to the nonwoven by means of an adhesive layer. The laminate is characterised in that said adhesive layer is obtainable by virtually complete fusion of binding fibres, which are located in the form of a layer at least on the surface of the nonwoven which faces the fabric. The laminate according to the invention can be used for the production of bituminised roofing and sealing webs. Melded binder-consolidated nonwovens based on carrier fibres and binding fibres are also described in which these nonwovens have layers differing from one another, in which mainly said carrier fibres or mainly said binding fibres occur. These nonwovens are characterised in that they have at least three of these layers and in that at least one surface of the nonwoven is formed by a layer mainly containing binding fibres, which is partially fused. A process for the production of the laminate according to the invention is also described which comprises the following steps: i) production of a spun-bonded nonwoven by spinning of molten polymer material from series of spinnerets arranged parallel to one another with the formation of carrier fibres and binding fibres, where at least the first and/or the last series of spinnerets is coated with polymer material suitable for the production of binding fibres, ii) stretching and laying of the polymer streams thus obtained on a conveyor belt in a manner known per se, such that a layer consisting mainly of binding fibres is formed at least on the top or on the bottom of the primary nonwoven formed, iii) mechanical stabilisation of the primary nonwoven located on the conveyor belt by the use of pressure and/or of elevated temperature on said primary nonwoven, such that this can be handled without damage in the following step, iv) intermediate consolidation of the stabilised primary nonwoven by calendering and fusion of a part of the binding fibres, v) addition of a fabric such that said fabric is combined with said intermediately consolidated spun-bonded nonwoven such that the surface of the spun-bonded nonwoven which is formed mainly of binding fibres comes into contact with the fabric, and vi) exertion of elevated temperature and, if desired, elevated pressure such that the binding fibres are fused virtually completely to the contact surface between spun-bonded nonwoven and fabric, an adhesive layer between both fabrics is formed and the laminate undergoes final consolidation. <IMAGE> |
