PURPOSE:To manufacture a dull roll for rolling, the sharpness after coating of which is remarkably improved by controlling the surface roughness pattern of steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:The surface of roll is covered with a thin film of chromium plating on which the thin film of insulating resin is covered. The film is penetrated by correcting the irradiating condition of high-density energy in accordance with the thickness of the film resin and specified holes are continuously formed. By immersing the roll worked in the above-mentioned manner into the solution of chromic acid, again executing chromium plating treatment and, after that, removing the covered resin, uniform projections comprising primarily chromium are provided on the surface of roll. |
