PURPOSE:To provide a sheet composed of an N-alkyl-substituted maleimide-olefin copolymer, excellent in transparency, heat resistance, weather resistance, mechanical strength, surface hardness, air resistance, etc., and useful as various kinds of advertising displays, sign-boards, lighting covers, etc. CONSTITUTION:A sheet made of a resin composed of a structural unit of formula I (R<1> is 1-18C alkyl or 3-12C cycloalkyl) and another structural unit of formula II (R<2> is H or 1-8C alkyl; R<3> and R<4> are 1-8C alkyl) respectively in an amount of 30-98mol%, especially 50-70mol% and 70-2mol% based on the whole polymer and having 1X10<3>-5X10<6>, preferably 1X10<5>-1X10<6> weight-average molecular weight expressed in terms of polystyrene and excellent in weather resistance. The above-mentioned resin is produced, e.g. by radical copolymerization between an N-alkyl-substituted maleimide (preferably N-cyclohexylmaleimide, etc., and an olefin (preferably isobutene) in the presence of a polymerization initiator such as an organic peroxide or an azo-based initiator at 40-150 deg.C. |
