PURPOSE:To enhance the on-ice running performance of a motorcycle tire without impairing its on-snow performance, anti-abrasiveness, and stability in maneuvering by restricting the sum of siping length in the tire axial direction and circumferential direction to a certain extent per unit area. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral surface of a tire is furnished with main grooves G1, G2, aux. groove G3, and connection groove G4 to bound inner blocks 10A and outer blocks 10B, and there sipings 12 are provided. In a grounding zone S where the tire contacts the road surface in case the nominal max. inner pressure and max. load as specified by JIS are applied, the sum of lateral edge components of sipings 12 shall range 130-160cm per 100cm<2> and the sum of circum-edge components range 60-90cm per 100cm<2>. The rubber hardness in tread part 5 shall be by JIS-A between 59 and 68 deg. at -5 deg.C. This enhances on-ice running performance while the on-snow performance is well maintained, and permits securing the maneuvering stability and anti-abrasiveness when the car is running on an ordinary road. |
