PURPOSE:To provide a horizontal roll with variable width which is used for a finish universal mill for finish rolling an H-shaped steel and a method for rolling H-shaped steel using the same. CONSTITUTION:The barrel part of roll is bisected in the breadth-wise direction and a solid roll shaft 11 is extended on the side of the end face in the divided part of one roll 2a of these divided rolls. The other roll 2b of the divided rolls is formed into a hollow shape, fitted outside the solid roll shaft 11 by making it into a hollow roll shaft 12 and made to be movable in the axial direction. The solid roll shaft 11 and hollow roll shaft 12 are respectively supported with roll chocks 13, 14 through bearings 15, 16 and the hollow roll shaft 12 is positioned through a thrust bearing 20. The critical position of its opening degree of roll of the solid roll shaft 11 is set with a jack 18 which is mounted to the roll chock 13 and the solid roll shaft 11 is constituted so that it is pressurized by a fixed pressure with a hydraulic cylinder 22 which is provided at the rear of the chock 14 on the side of the hollow roll shaft through a rotary pressure receiving device 23. |
