A sender laser (1) transmits light in a first polarisation state (S). The light is divided into two parts. The first part is transmitted unaltered via a light conductor (4) to the respective receivers, whilst the other part undergoes a delay (tau) of half bit slot length and is also submitted to change-over to another polarisation state (P), which is orthogonal to the first. After this, the second part of the light is fed back to the same light conductor (4) as the first part. - The sender laser (1) sends on one channel during the first half of a bit slot and on another channel during the second half of the bit slot in order to produce double-channeled communication. |
