The invention relates to an undergarment in particular intended for young children. The undergarment (1) comprises two sleeves (2 and 3) and a body (4) which has a neck (5) formed by folding over the ends of the front panel (6) and the rear panel (7) forming the body (4). The ends of these front and rear panels (6 and 7) overlap and are secured by means of the armhole seam when stitching in the sleeves (2 and 3). According to the invention, the overlap of the front and rear panels (6 and 7) covers approximately 1/3 of the perimeter of the sleeves (2 and 3) in order to enable the neck to open laterally to a great extent so that it is easier for young children to put on the sleeves.
