<p>PURPOSE:To provide the magnetic recording medium which has the high adhesive force to a nonmagnetic base and a magnetic layer, high traveling durability and excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics. CONSTITUTION:An under coat layer is provided on a nonmagnetic base and the magnetic layer formed by dispersing a ferromagnetic material in a binder is provided thereon. A polyester resin or polyurethane resin having a polar group (at least one kind selected from a group consisting of -SO3M, -OS03M, -COOM, -OPO3M2 (where M denotes a hydrogen atom, alkaline metal atom or ammonium salt and may be the same or different as or from each other if there are two Ms) and having 40 to 80 deg.C glass transition temp. (Tg) is incorporated into the under coat layer of such magnetic recording medium. In addition, a resin having the polar group similar to the polar group of the under coat layer is incorporated into this magnetic layer.</p> |
