PURPOSE:To realize compact termination by employing an insulator having a through hole for optical fiber as well as a through hole for power cable. CONSTITUTION:The termination is housed in an insulator 16 which is secured watertightly to a lower metal 22 through a packing 14, and the termination is secured in place by filling the insulator 16 with insulating compound 9 for power cable. A lead-out conductor 11 secured watertightly to an upper metal 23 through the packing 14 is connected with a power cable 6 at the end thereof. The lead-out conductor 11 is provided with a hole for passing an optical fiber 1 at the lower central part thereof and a lead-out port 24 of the optical fiber cable 1 at the central part thereof. The optical fiber cable 1 is lead out downward through the lead-out port 24, an insertion port 25, a through hole 17 and a lead-out port 26. At that time, the optical fiber cable 1 is secured in the through hole 17 by filling the through hole 17 with insulating compound 10 for optical fiber cable. Consequently, the termination is made compact and the installation space can be reduced. |
