PURPOSE:To process only the data of a range designated in a main scan or sub scan direction from image data from a one-dimensional imaging device by switching a buffer memory to store coded data for each scan or for every plural scans. CONSTITUTION:Analog image data from a one-dimensional camera are inputted to a binarizing circuit 1 and binarized by the binarizing circuit 1 with a fixed value or a value to be changed for each picture element position. Next, the binary data are coded by a coder circuit 2 so as to facilitate an image processing. For example, the data are transformed to information showing the starting point and ending point of continuous significant picture elements. The coded data are alternately recorded in two coded data buffers 3 for each line or for every plural lines. In this case, the stored coded data are moved to a memory space managed by a CPU and processed by the CPU only during the period of an outside timing signal to be inputted or an inside timing signal to be generated by detecting the change of the inputted coded data. |
