PURPOSE:To simplify the operation by providing the equipment with a CPU used to send a prescribed electronic mail to a prescribed destination according to the selection of the operator when a specific character string is in existence in a text of the received electronic mail. CONSTITUTION:A communication controller 7 receives an electronic mail via a LAN 8 and informs it to a CPU 1. The mail is displayed on a CRT by a command of the CPU 1 and a key board 3 informs the command of the operator to the CPU 1. A coordinate corresponding to the position on a screen of the CRT 2 is transmitted to the CPU a touch panel 4. An electronic mail including a sender, a destination and a text is stored in an external storage device 5 as a file. At first the file is opened and whether or not the entire mail is displayed is discriminated. When the mail is displayed entirely, the file is closed and deleted and then the processing is terminated. When the mail is not entirely displayed, a succeeding file is displayed on the CRT 2 and the processing is repeated. When a line starting with '/reply','/confirmation' is in existence in the mail text, the prescribed mail is sent to a prescribed destination via a transmission means by touch control of the operator and the operation of the operator is simplified.
