PURPOSE:To provide a more highly accurate deciding means in a full color image reproducing device to perform the black character processing and increase the black character reproducibility. CONSTITUTION:The light reflected and transmitted from a color original is separated into respective color components of red (R), green (G) and blue (B) by a line sensor 101. Presence of the chromatic color or the achromatic color is decided by a color deciding circuit 109, and for the chromatic color, a needless noise component such as a black edge part and a dot area is removed by an isolation point removing circuit 110. By a character area deciding circuit 111, an image area and a character area are separated, a character area signal is generated, and by masking with a chromatic signal subjected to the noise removal with respect to the black signal of a color deciding signal, the color deciding accuracy with respect to the network point character of the chromatic color and the blue system character can be improved and the more preferable black character processing is performed. |
